UPDATED: Shot fired near Roosevelt Community Education Center


The school has been taken off soft lockdown.


Roosevelt Community Education Center is on soft lockdown after reports of a shot fired nearby.

Officers responded just after 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Investigation showed that the shot was fired from a sawed off-style shotgun near a vacant property at Haskall and Bruce.

The suspects were described as two teen boys, one wearing a stocking cap. The teens then ran eastbound from 600 Ashland Avenue.

No one was injured, Roosevelt was not directly involved, and early reports are showing the shot was fired into the air.
