If you know of an amazing principal or someone who goes out of their way to volunteer in the field of education, you can honor them through the Golden Apple Foundation.
The deadlines to nominate individuals for the Puri Family Outstanding Principal Award and the Golden Apple Education Service Award are approaching.
The Outstanding Principal Award will honor an exceptional middle or high school principal in Winnebago or Boone County with at least five years of experience as an administrator. A letter of support from a school faculty member as well as a letter of support from a school parent must be submitted along with a nomination. The deadline for those nominations is 5:00 p.m. on February 7.
The Education Service Award will honor an individual, couple, organization, or business that commits themselves to the field of education through volunteerism. Nominees will be considered based on their volunteer work serving education or additional fields serving teachers, students, and schools. Nominees should also show a commitment to excellence in education in Winnebago and/or Boone County. The deadline for those nominations is 5:00 p.m. on January 31.
Recipients of the awards will be honored at the 17th Annual Golden Apple Banquet on Friday, April 26.
