Middle school students learn steps to take to live a purposeful life.
Rachel's Challenge is a movement that began following the Columbine shooting. Rachel Scott had a premonition that she was going to die young and therefore lived everyday purposefully. The foundation looks at her writings to promote prevention of teen violence.
One of Rachel's Challenge's certified presenters, Dave Gamache spoke to Rochelle Middle School students.
"We see things like what happened in Connecticut and we can sit back and wonder why or we can wonder what can I do about it to try to make sure people just take better care of each other. I think all the harm being done in the world comes down to people just not feeling connected or not having enough friends or not feeling like people care if they're here."
Rachel Scott was 17 years old and the first murder victim of the 1999 Columbine High School shooting.
