Rockford area entrepreneurs are gearing up for a class to help them get their own businesses started.
The Creating the Creative Business class kicks off on January 22 and runs through March 12. It's taught by Pamela Schallhorn, the CEO of New Urban Features and Project Manager for Shop Downtown Rockford. She also serves on the steering committee for the Rockford City Market.
The class was designed in 2010 to reach creative entrepreneurs like artists, authors, designers, and gourmet food producers. The cost of the class is $100, including the textbook, but those who qualify as low income can take it for free, thanks to a partnership with the Rockford Housing Authority.
The January to March session is full, but there is a waiting list for the next class, which will begin in either late March or early April. For more information on how to register, email Schallhorn at pschallhorn@gmail.com.
