The two women who died in Saturday morning's crash have been identified as 20-year-old Shakiyla Ellis and 23-year-old Desiree Manery.
PREVIOUSLY:
Around 1:45 Saturday morning, Rockford Police responded to the 900 block of South Winnebago Street for a single car crash.
Three adult females were driving south when their car went off the road, hitting a tree. Two passengers were killed, the driver was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital. The driver and the deceased front seat passenger both had to be extricated from the vehicle. Rockford Fire Department crews also assisted with the removal of the deceased back seat passenger.
The wreck is under investigation by Rockford Police.
