District 205 elementary PE teachers learn golf education - WREX.com – Rockford’s News Leader

The First Tee of Greater Rockford met with elementary school physical education teachers from around Rockford Public School District 205 to teach them the finer points of golf.
The training is part of the First Tee National School Program, which offers golf and character education for PE classrooms. The goal is to put golf on the same level as other sports students learn in PE.
The program began in Rockford in 2010, but the new training gives teachers an up-to-date curriculum.
