Marengo man dead after DeKalb County crash


A 37-year-old Marengo man has died after a Friday morning car crash at Route 64 and Motel Road in DeKalb County.

Police say Brian K. Hopper was driving westbound on Route 64 when his vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a shuttlebus driven by Robert Wright of Williams, Arizona. Hopper was pronounced dead at the scene. Wright was transported to Kishwaukee Hospital.

The accident is currently under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and the Coroner's Office.
