Free amplified phones available at RAMP offices

Those who are deaf or hard of hearing can now get a free amplified phone through Illinois Telecommunications and Access Corporation (ITAC) selection centers at any RAMP office.

To qualify for an ITAC phone, the buyer must be a legal resident of Illinois, have their doctor or audiologist sign off that they are hard-of-hearing, and have a standard land line at their residence. There are no restrictions regarding age or income.

ITAC programs are governed by Illinois law. RAMP has offices at the following locations:

  • 115 North First Street, DeKalb - 815-756-3202
  • 2155 West Galena Avenue, Freeport - 815-233-1128
  • 202 Market Street, Rockford - 815-968-7467
