MORRISON, IL (WREX) -

Nicholas Sheley was handed his second life sentence on Wednesday, this time for the murder of 93-year-old Russell Reed of Sterling.

Sheley was convicted by a jury of Reed's death in November of 2012. Along with the life sentence, a judge also handed Sheley a 30 year sentence for home invasion and a 15 year sentence for residential burglary.

Sheley was previously sentenced to life in prison for the murder of 65-year-old Galesburg man Ronald Randall. He faces future trials for the deaths of four people found in a Rock Falls apartment and an Arkansas couple who were killed in Missouri.

His attorney requested a new trial in Reed's murder, but it was denied by the judge.
