The LYDIA Foundation has received a $1,740 grant from the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois to support its WorkKeys Assessment for their Career Readiness course.
The course is part of LYDIA's Work Study program, which helps students become the type of employees businesses are looking to hire.
"When a student can go into a job interview with a certificate that says I have skills to offer, they have opened more doors for their future," Cira Guevara, Director of Fund and Community Development at LYDIA, said.
LYDIA Urban Academy is an accredited, non-traditional, Christian high school that focuses on students who are not succeeding in a traditional school system. For more information, visit www.lydiarockford.org.
