Government orders review of Boeing's 787

The government has ordered a comprehensive review of a brand new aircraft that has Rockford ties.

Boeing's 787 Dreamliner has not been in service for long, but there have been a series of problems recently. A battery in one plane's body started a fire while it was on the ground. No passengers were on board. Also this week, one jet had to return to its gate because of a fuel leak. Other Dreamliners had brake problems, and one had a cracked window.

Boeing says every new aircraft has problems, and the company welcomes the review. Rockford's Woodward and United Technologies Aerospace both have systems on the Dreamliner.
