Northern Illinois Hospice & Grief Center receives grant

The New York Life Foundation has given a $15,000 grant to the Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center to support services for disadvantaged youth.

The grant amount is $5,000 more than requested by NIHGC. The funds will be used to expand grief support in Rockford Public Schools from two days to three days a week. NIHGC will also provide after school grief support sessions in several community centers throughout the city.

Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center provides end-of-life care for individuals, bereavement support, and group and individual counseling for children, teens, and adults. You can find more on their programs here.
