Indian Oaks Country Club manager arrested for theft

The general manager of a Shabbona country club has been arrested for taking cash and writing unauthorized checks.

Members of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department began investigating a possible series of thefts by the general manager of the Indian Oaks Country Club in December 2012. After an investigation, Christopher J. Paterson of Naperville was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Taking over $10,000 in currency
  • Writing over $500 in unauthorized checks for his personal use
  • Not reimbursing the country club for five sets of golf clubs with a value of over $500

Paterson was arrested on January 10, 2013. The investigation is ongoing, but additional arrests and charges are not anticipated.
