With over 200 types of headaches, everyone has suffered one before. However, some people get headaches so severe, they regularly are forced to miss work.
Dr. Jeffrey Royce, a certified headache specialist at SwedishAmerican Hospital, says those with migraines can be sensitive to food or other changes in their environment, triggering a severe headache.
"Too much light, too much sound, too little sleep, and too much stress can trigger migraine headaches," he says.
Dr. Royce says about half of the people who suffer from chronic headaches go undiagnosed, but they should seek medical treatment.
Each year, an estimated economic loss of $20 billion is caused by migraines and other types of headaches.
