Rockford Park District commissioner removed from ballot

A long-time Rockford Park District commissioner has been removed from the April ballot after objections were raised about his nomination papers.

Julie Elliott filed an objection against Nathaniel Martin, claiming his nomination papers were not properly completed.

Martin was appointed as a commissioner in 1995 and served until 1997. He was elected again in 1999 and in 2007. He also served as President of the Park District Board from 2004 to 2007. He is currently a Trustee on the Board for the Illinois Association of Park Districts.
