Mental illness speakers educate public

The challenge of living with a mental illness is brought to light at a new NAMI meeting.

NAMI stands for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.  The group's meetings are open to the public but have now added a new experience for those sitting in the audience.  In Our Own Voice is a program developed specifically to explain the issues people with mental illness, face every day.

Logan Garvey, IOOV organizer, says it's a great way for speakers to relay their personal stories while helping the public better understand their struggles.  "We're all in this together to eliminate the negative thoughts on mental illness."
