The cost of three area students' health care education will be eased thanks to the FHN Healthcare Career Scholarship.
Kayla Briggs of Warren, Abby DeMus of Durand, and Cody Gallagher of Ridott are the winners of the 2012 scholarships. The three each had to write an essay about their chosen career paths and how they would serve the health care needs of FHN's service area. The top five candidates were then chosen for in-person interviews by a committee.
Each of the three winners received $1,000 to help cover education expenses for the upcoming 2013 winter term.
Briggs majors in clinical laboratory sciences at the University of Wisconsin, DeMus majors in nursing at Lewis University, and Gallagher is working on a physical therapy degree at Clarke University.
