Beloit police investigating armed robbery


The Beloit Police Department is looking for a man who robbed someone at an ATM and stole their car.

The robbery occurred around 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, in the 400 block of Public Avenue. The victim of the robbery had driven to an ATM in that block to make a withdrawal when a man armed with a handgun and wearing a black nylon jacket with a hoodie underneath forced his way into the victim's car.

After a withdrawal was made, the suspect made the victim drive him to the intersection of College Street and Bushnell Avenue before ordering the victim out of the car. The suspect then left the scene in the victim's car.

No injuries were reported and the car was found in the 400 block of Harrison Avenue the next day.
