This is the final semester students and faculty will spend at Rockford College.
The college will change it's name to Rockford University on July 1, marking the second name change in the school's 166 year history. Vendors, students, and alumni have all been notified, and so far, the change is going smoothly.
"We are trying to identify exactly what we've been recognized as in the industry," Institutional Advancement Vice President Bern Sundstedt said. "People recognize us as an university, so we're taking on the name. We're simply assuming what we already are."
There is still time to enroll for the spring semester at Rockford College; you can find more information on their website. Classes begin on January 22.
