Former Ogle County state's attorney sworn in as judge

Ogle County's previous state's attorney will now serve the county as a judge.

Ben Roe was sworn in  as the Ogle County Resident Circuit Judge on Monday, January 7 by 15th Circuit Chief Judge Val Gunnarsson. After the ceremony, Judge Gunnarsson named Ogle County First Assistant State's Attorney Mike Rock as the Interim Ogle County State's Attorney. Rock was then given the oath of office by Ogle County Associate Circuit Judge Robert T. Hanson.

Rock's appointment is necessary to keep the state's attorney's office running until the next County Board meeting on January 15. A permanent replacement for Roe will be recommended then.

Roe was appointed as the Resident Circuit Judge of Ogle County on November 8, 2012.
