First Friday draws a crowd despite cold weather

Cold temperatures didn't stop people from checking out this month's "First Friday."

Every month downtown Rockford comes alive with art galleries, music, restaurants and theater venues. They stay open late to provide a night packed full of entertainment.

One arts and gallery consignment shop, Artificium Gallery and Gifts,  has 41 artists creating a bridge to the community with their items. Owner Meghan Turley, looks forward to First Fridays. "What we're doing 50% about art and 50% about helping downtown Rockford come back."

Artists interested in providing pieces for the gallery check out its website. The next First Fridays is February first.
