Beloit man sentenced for robbing, beating elderly couple

A 21-year-old Beloit man has been sentenced to 39 years in prison for robbing and beating an elderly couple.

Christopher Dawson was found guilty last October of armed robbery, armed burglary with a dangerous weapon, two counts of battery to an elderly person, and intimidating a witness.

According to police, Dawson and three other suspects broke into an elderly couple's home in November 2010, bound the victims, and pushed them down stairs. Dawson then put a shirt over the female victim's head and told her both she and her husband would die.

Cash, a coin collection, and a Green Bay Packers ring were stolen from the home.
