Village president John Neitzel says they needed help running the village, so they created a new position of City Administrator. After interviewing several candidates, they hired Mark Lynch for the job.
Lynch has a Masters Degree in public administration. He has also served in local governments in Kansans and Alaska.
Neitzel and the board will continue to establish policies, and the new City Administrator will implement them, as well as oversee day-to-day village operations.
"The goal of my position is to look out for the best interest of the community," says Lynch. "Try to find ways to reduce costs. Ways to generate additional revenues, not through taxes necessarily, but through grants and things like that."
Neitzel gave up 50 percent of his salary to go towards the City Administrator position.
