Rockford Area Aerospace Network gets mention in NIU Today

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

The Rockford Area Aerospace Network and its partners got special recognition as one of the year's top 25 newsmakers of the year.

NIU Today mentioned RAAN and its partners Northern Illinois University, Rock Valley College, Eiger Lab, and the Rockford Area Economic Development Council for helping the Rockford region get a $2.4 million federal Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge grant. Rockford was one of just 20 regions to receive the grant across the country.

The grant itself and the potential impact it could have on the community helped RAAN get mention in the publication, which says significant growth is expected in the aerospace field throughout the region during the next twenty years.
