UPDATE: Coroner releases name of man killed in snowmobile crash

ORANGEVILLE (WREX) -

An Orangeville man is dead after a snowmobile crash in Stephenson County.

It happened around 9:45pm Sunday night a half mile south of Route 26 along the Jane Adams Trail near Orangeville.  The Stephenson County Coroner's Office says Chad Cahoon, 41 was killed in the crash.   Toxicology tests are pending but he died of blunt force trauma to the head.   Police say Cahoon was heading north on the snowmobile trail when he hit a tree.  He was taken to Freeport Memorial Hospital where he died. 

Illinois Conservation Police and Stephenson County Coroner are investigating.
