Suspect robs Family Dollar on Rockton Ave.

Man steals money from local Family Dollar.

According to Rockford police, at 7:25 p.m., the male suspect entered the business at 3124 N. Rockton Avenue.  He talked to employees about buying merchandise and then took out a pocket style folding knife, demanding money from employees.  The suspect left the store with an unknown amount of cash.  During a confrontation with the suspect, one employee did get a small scratch from the knife.  If you have any information regarding this crime, contact Rockford police.
