
A California man will go to prison for robbing a Rockford bank.
William Joseph Farrell, 38 admitted he walked in to the BMO Harris Bank location off McFarland Road in March. He said he handed the teller a note claiming he had a gun and demanded cash. Farrell was arrested about a month after the robbery in California. He was sentenced to 8 years in federal prison. Farrell has to return to his home state first to serve the remainder of a prison sentence there before he serves this federal sentence.
