Harvard student brings shell casings to school

HARVARD (WREX) -

A 12-year-old student in Harvard is detained after police say he brought three used shell casings to school.

Crosby Elementary School and Harvard Junior High School went on lockdown Wednesday morning after police received reports about the shell casings being found at the junior high and on a school bus.

The student faces a charge of disorderly conduct. Police say he realized the consequences of his actions after losing one of the shell casings on the bus, so he discarded the other two in a bathroom at school. He got the casings at home after they were collected from an exhibition. The student was released to a parent.
