A 19-year-old Northern Illinois Student is dead and 22 members of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity face hazing charges, leading to the fraternity's suspension.
David Bogenberger was found dead on November 2 in the fraternity house. Autopsy results show he died of cardiac arrhythmia that was triggered by alcohol. Bogenberger's blood alcohol content was .351.
NIU's Eta Nu chapter of Pi Alpha Kappa has been administratively suspended after five fraternity leaders were charged with felony hazing and seventeen other fraternity members were charged with misdemeanor hazing for the event that police say preceded Bogenberger's death.
According to Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity Vice President Justin Buck, the fraternity will cooperate with police in finding those who violated the law.
