Future musicians and actors at RVC are getting more space to perform.
Questions of where and what the building will be exactly still needs to be decided. The Facility Committee of the Rock Valley College Board of Trustees met to discuss plans of a performance venue. The board wants to keep the total budget under $10 million. Even though the exact location is unknown, Mike Olson, committee Chairman, says the new addition will for sure be on the main campus.
"For the first time we talked about a rebuild of a studio theater as opposed to building a whole separate, stand alone venue for the theater, or combining a theater and music venue together. So this is really kind of a new solution that we need to do just a little bit more investigation on."
Olson expects plans to be finished for the new performance venue by January.
