
Students and teacher at the Rockford Lutheran Academy were honored by the mayor and the executive director of the Rockford Area Arts Council for their work on the Rockford Hometown History event.
Mayor Larry Morrissey and Executive Director Anne O'Keefe visited the academy to present the Mayors Arts Award for Creative Cultural Event on Tuesday. The award is a celebration of the event, which was held in May at the Coronado Performing Arts Center.
The two-day event was presented to the entire third grade population of Rockford School District 205 and also featured a gala with over 25 different community organizations.
