Former Loves Park restaurant owner sentenced in 2011 incident

A former Loves Park business owner is sentenced for his role in trying to block an open police investigation.

Thomas Caputo used to own Gia's.  He was charged about a year ago for threatening a witness.  Loves Park Police confirmed at the time, that they were investigating a shooting that happened at the restaurant November 25th.  Investigators wouldn't say if the charges stem from that shooting.  Caputo pleaded guilty to attempted unlawful communication with a witness.  He was ordered to pay fines of $1,000 and he'll be on conditional discharge for 24 months.
