Rockford Police Department promotes several officers

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Members of the Rockford Police Department gathered Tuesday at Rockford College to celebrate the promotions of several officers.

The ceremony featured Chief of Police David Couper (Ret.) of the Madison, Wisconsin Police Department as a guest speaker. The following officers were scheduled to be promoted:

  • Lieutenant Douglas Pann to Assistant Deputy Chief
  • Sergeant John Pozzi to Lieutenant
  • Sergeant Steven Perry to Lieutenant
  • Sergeant John Hoeksema to Lieutenant
  • Patrol Officer Daniel Watton to Sergeant
  • Investigator Eric McLain to Sergeant
  • Investigator Timothy Speltz to Sergeant
  • Investigator Harold Combs to Sergeant
  • Investigator David Lee to Sergeant

Lieutenant Pann will also serve as the first Commander of the new Geographic Police Pilot District.
