JOLIET, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities in Will County say an argument at a Joliet home ended with a father and son dead and a second son wounded.
Joliet Police Chief Mike Trafton tells The Herald-News that the shooting broke out Saturday night.
Police officials say 46-year-old Roberto Gutierrez was fatally shot by his 23-year-old son, who also wounded his younger brother. Police say the 22-year-old brother then fired back and killed his older sibling.
Officers arrived at the scene to find 23-year-old Fernando Gutierrez wounded on the sidewalk with a revolver nearby.
Trafton says the investigation continues but it appears the younger brother's actions were justified.
The younger brother was shot several times but is expected to survive. His name isn't being released.
There's no word on what caused the argument.
