Kids send letters to Santa with help from Belvidere Post Office

BELVIDERE (WREX) -

Children in Belvidere got a little help from some local elves in sending their letters to Santa Claus this year.

The Belvidere Post Office invited kids to the facility Friday to write out their lists to mail to the North Pole. Each letter got a special holiday postmark cancellation designed by local artist and Belvidere Fire Chief David Worrell. Frosty was also on hand to give out candy and coloring books.

All letters submitted at the event will receive a mailed response from Santa himself.
