Amerock building coming down on Rockford's Westside

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Construction crews have started tearing down part of the old Amerock building on Auburn Street in Rockford.

The workers knocking down the abandoned building tell 13 News it has been purchased by Phoenix Investors, a group planning to tear down three-fourths of the building and rent the rest to businesses.

We are working to get more information from the group on what types of businesses they will market the building to.
