Dozens of people get tickets over the Thanksgiving holiday thanks to stepped up patrols by Belvidere Police.
Extra officers worked from November 12th through the 25th. They were hired back to watch out for drunk drivers and people not wearing their seatbelts. Officers made a total of 12 traffic stops and wrote 25 tickets. Most of those were to drivers not wearing a seat belt.
The Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety paid for these stepped up patrols.
