Students at Rock Valley College teach robots new tricks.
The Introduction to Robotics and Automation class teaches the mechanical, electrical and electronic components used in robotics and automated systems. Students in the class spend half the semester designing a project using FANUC robots.
After hours of trouble shooting, Ryan Letzter's group designed their project to mimic a baseball game.
"It's sort of like playing a video game, you can just pick and point where you want the robot to actually end up."
After completing the course, students earn certification in programming FANUC robots.
