BELOIT (WREX) -

Four people were injured after a two car crash that ended with one vehicle coming to rest against a house in the 500 block of Eighth Street in Beloit.

The crash occurred just before 5:00 a.m. Tuesday morning when Beloit Police say 22-year-old Spenser Hubbard was speeding down Eighth Street when he struck a car driven by 40-year-old Salvador Cabrera-Ortega, who was driving on Euclid Avenue. After the two cars hit each other, Hubbard's car went through a yard and came to rest against a home.

Victims were extricated from both vehicles. Hubbard was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but his passenger, a 17-year-old female, was taken to UW Madison Hospital by helicopter where she is in serious condition. Cabrera-Ortega and his six-year-old daughter were treated and released for minor injuries.

Beloit Police say excessive speed was a factor, and they believe alcohol and/or drugs may have been a factor. Hubbard will be held on the initial charge of Causing Injury by Intoxicated use of a Motor Vehicle. Additional charges may be given after the investigation is finished.
