ROCKFORD (WREX) -

If you're thinking about re-decorating your home, or just want a few new elements, one Rockford shop believes it has you covered.

While this is not a new business, it is in a new location.

The home decor shop Mary's by Design is now nearly twice as big as it was just a few months ago.  Owner Mary Sweeney says the new location is a dream come true.

"I've been doing this since I was a young girl and it's just something I've always had passion about, and I absolutely love it, and I can't imagine myself going anything else."

For nearly 15 years, Mary's store was in an old two story Machesney park house

"But unfortunately with that space, it was difficult moving furniture up and down, the rooms were a little bit smaller, so we couldn't get a complete look for all of our rooms and though it was a great space, we just outgrew the space," said Mary.

So she began searching for something larger.

"The space that we found we felt would work perfectly and we had the opportunity to design the complete space for what our needs were, which is exactly what we wanted," said Mary.

She chose a location off of Alpine and State, nestled in between other locally owned businesses

"It feels like home and it's only been two weeks."

Thanks to her new store,  Mary can continue living her dream.

She says customers enjoy the new store too. "The response has been absolutely incredible with old customers and new customers so I think I would say a perfect move for us."

Right now, Mary's by Design also has Christmas decorations. You can see pictures of them on their Facebook page.
