A Rockford organization hopes a public hearing will help make its dream of opening a charter school a reality.
Comprehensive Community Solutions planned to open Greentek by next fall, but the Rockford School Board did not support the proposal. A public hearing scheduled for Thursday, December 6, could change that, if the Illinois State Charter School Commission reverses the board's decision.
The hearing will be held at the main branch of the Rockford Public Library, 215 North Wyman Street, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
