ROCKFORD (WREX) -
The Rockford Police Department is looking to increase its ranks.
The department is currently accepting applications for the position of police officer. Applicants should be committed to protecting the public, preventing crime, and maintaining law and order.
Initial applications and testing process information can be found at www.rockfordil.gov/police. Applications will be accepted from November 30 to January 12 at 11:59 p.m.
Applicants will be required to participate in a testing process, including a minimum of the following (dates and times of which are subject to change):
- Physical Agility Test January 19, 2013
- Written Exam Test January 19, 2013
- Pre-Polygraph Exam February 8–10, 2013
- M-Pulse Inventory Test February 16, 2013
- Required Documents Due February 27, 2013
- Pre-Interview Review March 4-8, 2013
- Oral Interview March 11-15, 2013
- Polygraph Test March 18-22, 2013
- Psychological Test April 2-5, 2013
- Background Investigation April 8–29, 2013
- Medical Exam / Final Physical Agility Test April 8-28, 2013
- Swearing In April 29, 2013
Six orientations will also be held by a recruiter so applicants can learn more about the job and testing process. Orientation is optional, but suggested. Those sessions will be held:

Practice sessions for physical agility will be held:
