Chrysler workers help feed hungry with Thanksgiving Food Drive

Workers at the Belvidere Assembly Plant gathered Monday to help the community through the donation of food, and even a car.

Employees donated food to the Belvidere Boone County Food Pantry in the hopes of helping area hungry have a good Thanksgiving. To make sure the food made it there safely, a unique 2013 Dodge Dart police car escorted the donation from the plant to the pantry.

The Dart has been upgraded to a full police car and was donated to the Belvidere Police Department by the company. It will be used in parades and other ceremonial events.

Last year, the Belvidere Assembly Plant's food drive fed over 1,000 people in the Belvidere and Rockford area.
