A Mexican citizen who had previously been deported from the United States has been sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for illegally re-entering the country.
Manuel Alvarez-Ochoa, 23, was arrested in Dixon and found to be in the country illegally. Alvarez-Ochoa had previously been deported from the country in May 2008.
He pleaded guilty on August 14, 2012, admitting he had reentered the country as an aggravated felon without the consent of the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
Alvarez-Ochoa will not have the option of parole.
