Community shows support at Katrina Smith's visitation

The community gets a chance to say goodbye at Katrina Smith's visitation.

The search ended when her body was identified on Saturday, November 10th.  An autopsy shows she died from blunt force trauma.  Investigators call the case a homicide.  Because of the overwhelming support and letters of encouragement from the community, Katrina Smith's family wanted the visitation open to the public.

Tammy English, Katrina Smith's co-worker, says Smith's family felt the community's compassion over the last few weeks.  "Her smile would just warm up any room, loved children, worked here at Heartland and in the launch ministries, touched several lives, led youth groups. So she's definitely made an impact and her life continues to make an impact."

Anyone with information on Katrina Smith's death should contact Winnebago County Sheriff's police.
