Dollar General store robbed on S. Alpine Rd.

A man steals money from the Dollar General at 2500 S. Alpine Road Thursday night.

Around 8:40 p.m., the suspect confronted the cashier with something in a red sock.  He reached into the cash register and took an unknown amount of money and left.  The suspect was last seen in a dark colored sedan.  No one was injured. 

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years old, 5'6" and 170lbs. 

Anyone with information on this crime should call Rockford police
