Museum exhibit shines light on Rockford immigration

We are partnering with Northwest Quarterly magazine to shine the spotlight on the people, places and things that make our region unique and special.

The first place we put a spotlight on is Midway Village Museum.   A special exhibit called Many Faces, One Community is starting to take shape at the museum.  It depicts the history of immigration to Rockford and how our community has developed with help from those immigrants.

Deb Nau, Director of Development at Midway Village, says it will fully reflect Rockford's immigration.   "Everything that comprises our city is going to be at one point featured in this exhibit.  It's not just for the Swedes, it's for anybody who calls Rockford home."

You can read much more about this exhibit in the first edition of Smart Living Weekly.  It's out this week from the people who bring you the Northwest Quarterly magazine.  To pick up your copy, there are hundreds of locations in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
