Local philanthropists honored for service

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) spent the lunch hour honoring individuals and groups who have enhanced philanthropy and their communities.

A luncheon was held in recognition of National Philanthropy Day at the Forest Hills Country Club on November 13. The following people and groups were honored:

  • Outstanding Philanthropist: Edward and Mary Ann Rounds
  • Presidential Youth Service Award: PIT (Peer Intervention Team) Crew/North Boone High School
  • Outstanding Corporation: BMO Harris Bank
  • Fundraising Volunteer: Elizabeth "Betty" Willard
  • Community Service Volunteer: Bob McLaughlin
  • Future Philanthropist: Riley Kegley

AFP's Rockford chapter has 62 members representing not-for-profit organizations in the fields of education, social services, environment, and more.
