Energy efficient features on a new building at Rockford Christian School have made it eligible for several cash incentives through the Smart Ideas program.
Features like solar thermal panels, efficient rooftop units and air conditioning units, wind turbines, and energy efficient windows made the new Bertrand Science Technology & Humanities building eligible for a total of $6,003 in incentives through the program.
ComEd spokesman Paul Callighan commented, "Those of you involved in the project should be proud of your accomplishments and we hope that you become a shining example for others on what can be achieved when it comes to energy efficiency."
The school is also using the building as part of its sustainability curriculum.
