
Two individuals have been named as suspects in the shooting of a 21-year-old man in the leg on South Winnebago Street on Monday.
The shooting occurred in the 1200 block of South Winnebago just before 2:00 p.m. The victim was transferred to a local hospital for treatment. Two men, a 16-year-old juvenile, and 24-year-old Scotty Valentine were both charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and conspiracy to commit aggravated battery with a firearm.
The 16-year-old male juvenile was arrested around noon on Tuesday, November 13, in a retail establishment in the 900 block of School Street. A firearm and suspected cannabis was located near the suspect. He has also been charged with armed violence, unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID, and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a school.
Valentine is still wanted by Rockford police.
Photos of the two men are not being officially released due to the pending nature of the investigation.
